Lord's Cricket Ground: the Media Centre
Lord's Cricket Ground: the Media Centre
The Media Centre at the Nursery End of the ground was designed by the architectural practice Future Systems, led by Czech architect Jan Kaplický. It was the first all-aluminium, semi-monocoque building in the world, built and fitted-out in two boatyards, using boat-building technology. It was awarded the RIBA Stirling Prize for architecture in 1999. The picture was taken from the Pavilion End during the tea interval of the first day of the last County Championship match of the 2018 season.
