More information:

Gold Dust, Basket of Gold (Alyssum saxatile, Aurinia saxatilis) A favorite rockery perennial. It flowers in masses of dense yellow clusters throughout the spring. The spreading plants are used in borders and edging as well as rock gardens. It combines well with other spring flowering perennials when planted in the foreground of landscape beds. Description: An attractive ground-hugger with grey foliage and masses of light yellow clusters of flowers in the spring. Vigorous and showy; prune it hard back after flowering. Sowing Instructions: Sow from late January to July on the surface of a good seed compost. After sowing seal the seed container in a polythene bag and don't exclude light. Make sure that the compost is always moist but not over-wet. Germination takes 10-30 days at 15-18C (60-65F). Growing Instructions: Once most of the seeds have come up, lower the temperature slightly. When large enough to handle, transplant the seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots, and grow on cool and well lit. In Autumn or early spring plant out where they are to flower 45cm (18in) apart in full sun and a rather poor, well drained soil.
