A Fox Fantasy

Claude and I both started high school at Oakland Early College or OEC in 2008. We met in Ms. Maddalena’s Focus class. At that time we didn’t know each other but we sat next to each other because of our last names. Claude was constantly telling jokes every morning. One morning I had enough and I asked him if he ever shut up and instead of him answering my question he started to crack jokes on me. You would think that would’ve made me upset but it actually didn’t, I started laughing along with him and literally after that we became best friends. We only had that one class together the entire time we were at OEC but some how we were still inseparable. We ate lunch together and talked every day. During one of our talks Claude asked if I wanted to make a pact with him. The pact was if we weren’t married by 35 we would marry each other. I agreed and we went on with our lives not thinking much else about it. After high school we hung out and talked as often as we were able to but life has a way of getting in the way. During the many years that followed, we both dated other people but still did our best to stay in contact every now and again. Somehow we ended up completely not talking for 10 months which was one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do. However around summer of 2022, Claude called and said he missed me and literally the rest is history! Our 1 year anniversary was in September of 2023 and a few days before Christmas, playing Santa at PEACE Academy, Claude proposed to me and that was the easiest yes I ever said. In the fall of 2024 we will be Husband and Wife and able to live each day together for the rest of our lives and we can’t wait!
