Gong Hyo-jin and Ryu Seung-bum called it quits

22 Aug – It was just revealed that celebrity couple, Gong Hyo-jin and Ryu Seung-bum have called it quits after ten years together.

Korea.com website reported that the agencies of both stars confirmed the news, stating that an official statement will be released regarding the breakup.

However, they stated that both stars have decided to remain friends instead.

Meanwhile, Kpopstarz website reported that when asked about the reason for their breakup, the actress stated, "We just wanted a break from dating. We didn't fight and no one said 'let's break up' first. It just naturally ended up this way. We decided to just stay friends for now," denying the rumour of her scandal with Ha Jung-woo at the same time.

Both actors started dating after working together on SBS' "Beautiful Days" in 2001. They broke up in 2003 but rekindled the romance in 2006 after working together on "The Birth of a Family". They officially announced their relationship in 2008 and despite rumours going around about a wedding, it was never realised.

In the meantime, Hong Hyo-jin is busy preparing for the release of her documentary film alongside Ha Jung-woo entitled "577 Project" while Ryu is busy filming his new movie, "Berlin".
