What George & Amal Clooney's Public Appearances Reveal About Their Marriage, According to an Expert
Before marrying Amal Alamuddin, George Clooney was a perpetual bachelor yet now he is one half of the Hollywood’s most beloved and loving couples. Since tying the knot in 2014, their appearances at premieres, award shows, charity events and more have showed off their amorous relationship. But what does how they act in public say about their romance behind closed doors?
Celebrity body language expert Inbaal Honigman spoke to Hello! to unpack the Clooney’s and it turns out even she agrees that these two are couple goals. “George and Amal’s body language, when they’re together on red carpets or in public appearances, has been consistent throughout their relationship,” she told Hello!

“They stand together as if they are the bestest of friends, and are equals in their marriage.”
Most recently, George, 62, and Amal, 45, have stepped out at premieres and events to celebrate the release of his latest directorial project, The Boys in the Boat. The happy couple are often hand in hand as they walk carpets and are even known to show off some PDA.
Honigman observes that the couple’s postures and movements suggest there is a lot of equality in their relationship. “There’s not a leader and a follower in this marriage, they are equals,” she states. She also notes that the couple give each other a lot of space, sometimes looking in different directions or doing different poses.
Overall, Honigman notes that it is clear the couple have a strong friendship as the foundation of their romance. “Friendship and support are at the heart of successful relationships,” she adds.
It is certainly obvious that these two have a lot of adoration for one another and no one shows off that love more than George himself.
The actor joked about feeling unworthy of his wife in an interview with Page Six last month.
“Yes, and I still do [think that],” the actor replied, when asked if he felt like he were “punching above” his weight with Amal. “Everyone would say the same thing,” he added.
The couple wed in Italy in 2014 after meeting through a mutual friend in 2013. They are proud parents to twins Ella and Alexander who were born in 2017.
