Director Tarsem Singh, probably best known for directing the Jennifer Lopez film "The Cell" and/or the music video for R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion," has signed on to direct the movie version of Condemned: Criminal Origins.

The movie, originally called "Species X" (ugh) is now titled "Unforgettable," which is only slightly better. The writing and plot of "The Cell" left a bit to be desired, but visually it was absolutely stunning. Hopefully Unforgettable's script, by Kurt Sutter, will do its source material justice, though if they wanted to skip that whole dead bird thing, that'd be just fine by me.
