Description

An attractive, sturdy plant with a long flowering season.

Flowers

Flowers are sulphur yellow, often with a black centre, solitary. Layers of notched ray florets, the outer layer flushed with red.

Leaves

Pinnatisect leaf is deeply lobed, almost to the central midrib, Elliptic oval leaf, Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Basal leaves: deeply lobed, almost to central midrib.
Upper leaves: oval to long, pointed, sometimes serrated, clasping the stem.

Fruits Seeds

Achene: a large cluster of 1-seeded fruit with feathery hair.

Edible

Leaves: bitter.
