Even being a world-famous supermodel can't help you find a date after a certain age, according to Paulina Porizkova.

The Sports Illustrated cover star appears on Wednesday's episode of Red Table Talk during which she confessed to hosts Jada Pinkett Smith, Jada's mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris, and her daughter Willow that she's currently having a very tough time in the romance department. “Now I'm 57, and I'm in the dating pool,” Porizkova shared, prompting Jada to ask, “What is that like?” The model replied, “It's a small pool, dirty little puddle.” adding with an ironic smile, “Girls, ladies—it sucks.”

One of the main reasons dating sucks so much right now for Porizkova is she says there just aren't a whole lot of options out there who haven't already had sex with all of her friends. “It turns out that on the dating apps, men my age that are willing to sleep with women our age, have slept with all my girlfriends already. There's like these five guys we keep passing around and they're like 'So did you sleep with him yet? Yeah don't bother. Okay, cool thanks,'” Porizkova said prompting laughter from the show's three hosts.

But the model's romantic life wasn't always so lackluster. During the interview, Porizkova also spoke openly about her relationship with her late ex-husband, The Cars frontman Ric Ocasek, and his sudden death in September 2019. “He had surgery because they'd found stage 0 lung cancer,” she explained. “And he was recovering really well. Two weeks [later], he was walking around, he was starting to feel much better, he was sleeping better. And this night, he said, you know what, I'm feeling kinda tired.” The next morning, Porizkova thought he was just sleeping in because of his “rockstar hours,” but decided to wake him up around 11, which is how she discovered he had died in the night. “I brought him a cup of coffee and he just looked like he was sleeping,” she recalled. “I set the coffee down next to him and that's when I saw his face. I saw his eyes. And they didn't look like eyes anymore.” Ocasek died of natural causes at the age of 75 in the former couple's New York City home.

Prior to his passing, Ocasek and Porizkova had announced in May 2018 that they were separating after 28 years of marriage and two children together. But when Ocasek died, the pair had not yet legally divorced and were still living together. The day after his death, the model discovered that she had been left out of her late ex's will. However, in October 2021, she confirmed that she had settled with Ocasek's estate, telling The Originals podcast that while she wouldn't reveal exactly how much money she'd received, she's “gonna be fine.”
