John Krasinski literally threw out his scale for '13 Hours' buffness

John Krasinski has his best bod ever at aged 36, achieved through his warrior role in13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.  A big secret of his success, as he told us, was tossing out his bathroom scale to achieve the results. It worked as it landed him on the cover of Men's Health magazine.

But really, threw out the scale? Not like, put it in the closet?

We checked, and the Krasinski-Emily Blunt super-bad household seems to be scale-free.

I don't need no stinkin' scale to nab Men's Health.

"To be fair, I had bought my scale years and years ago. So I actually threw it out. Because I didn't want to be tempted. It was an old scale. Don't worry, I don't think it even worked. At least I felt better when I said it didn't work."

But, in truth, no scale helps for the regiment he perfected over months.

"My trainer said get rid of your scale... No one is a harsher critic than you. So when you see you're in shape in the mirror, you'll know. And it was totally true."

Krasinski told us that when he did look at the scale (pre-garbage run), it would only lead to frustration.

"The number is really frustrating. You'll start a week and then end it weighing more than you did before. Even though you are training really hard. That is muscle weight and water weight...And my trainer was absolutely right. I got out of the shower one day and said, 'Who the hell is this handsome guy and why is he trying to rob us?...And why isn't he wearing clothes?' "

Krasinski vows to keep the look going forever in real life. It already lives forever as former Navy SEAL Jack Silva on film in 13 Hours, in theaters now.
