This popular Tetra has been available in the trade for many years, due in part to its ease of breeding. The fish are adaptable and will thrive in most aquariums providing they are kept in groups. Although peaceful, as with other tetras of similar shape, they may nip at the fins of slow moving and long finned fish such as Siamese Fighters. To provide perfect conditions the aquarium should have a dark substrate and/or hiding areas amongst vegetation.
