The Ctenopoma group of fish are known as the 'Climbin Perches' or 'Bush Fish' and several species are occasionally available for sale. The pictured fish is the Mottled Ctenopoma (Ctenopoma oxyrhynchum) and is a nicely patterned fish that will complement and contrast other fish in a community aquarium. Although robust, Ctenopoma's are slow moving and can be timid so plenty of hiding spots amongst plants are required. The fish has a predatory nature and will eat any fish much smaller than itself, although at only about 8-10cm, most aquarium fish will be too large. Peaceful and adaptable to water conditions.
