"Milloides Claret" is a variety of Rhodohypoxis grown for its petite nature and small flowers. It produces masses of bright pink flowers through spring and summer. These are held above the short, dark green leaves. This herbaceous perennial typically grows to just 10 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of wind, dry periods, frost, alpine conditions, and may die back during winter but will grow again when conditions warm. "Milloides Claret" is commonly grown in a container, planted between pavers, or added to a rock garden. It is also well suited to growing indoors as potted plant during flowering.
