There were lots of people in the background, and it was pretty dark, so I've decided just make the whole scene a little bit dream like.
It took days for me to figure out the background color, and scene, because I wanted to keep the richn textures of the robots, and didnt want to overshadow them… with too fancy sky. This prussian blue was the perfect choice.
The first layer of this painting was a dead underlayer with simple ocher, and it dried fast. The second layer was the original underpainting, and with the third layer I made the 3dimensional look of the figures. It need a fourth and fifth layers too, because I had too put the textures and little details on, and of course the dirt. Without the dirt they would look brand new, and I wanted to make it more "romantic".

« I believe my paintings find their owner by fate, on a certain purpose. I put more contrast, brighter colors into my paintings than reality. My interest is to draw people's attention this way towards that kind of hidden truth what should not be ignored. »
Andrew King is a Hungarian painter with national exposure. His paintings emphasize contrast, and brighter colors preferring them to more realistic features. His portraits aim to show pure feelings without unnecessary frippery and to describe human behavior in all its details.
