Staten Island Nightlife: Burrito Bar filled with margaritas, Tex-Mex eats

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- With April finally here, the bars of Staten Island are gearing up for another successful summer of drinks and good food.

Burrito Bar -- 585 Forest Ave., West Brighton; 718-815-9200; TheBurritoBar.com -- marks our latest foray into S.I. Nightlife.

The motto at this enduring Tex-Mex-meets-'60s-flashback gathering place: "Peace, Love & Mexican Food."

The bar was converted from a house and now features two floors, the top floor being its restaurant while the bar lies on the first floor. The outdoor patio also serves its purpose as it holds plenty of room for a large crowd. Manager JR and his Burrito Bar staff are some of the friendliest on the Island and will be sure to welcome patrons to the venue (assuming you're of age).

"The Perfect Patron Margarita" is featured as their speciality drink and blends the sweetness of Lime with the kick of Patron to perfection. The authentic mexican food keeps customers coming back for more. "The whole island sleeps on my food" said JR. He encourages anyone who hasn't tasted the food 'Burrito" has to offer to come on down and be prepared to have a few drinks while you're there.

Burrito Bar can be seen all year long with a packed house on the weekends. With live DJs such as DJ Thrilla the music is always pumping in the bar while the upstairs restaurant allows friends to enjoy their own company and great Tex-Mex cuisine.

"Hippy Hour" takes place Monday through Friday from 3-7 p.m. For updated drink specials, follow Burrito Bar on Facebook and Twitter @burritobarsi. Plus, check out party pics on Intagram: the_burrito_bar.
