As someone who often shares her life on Instagram, from her touching reflections to her skin-baring photoshoots, Paulina Porizkova’s fans were surely excited when the model announced she’d be going on vacation. And while she stayed offline for most of the trip, the model is finally posting some bikini shots and we’re loving her for it!
In the first post, Porizkova is seen wearing a bright blue string bikini while she looks off into the distance at a beach. In the caption, she explained why the location of the trip was close to her heart.
“Here come the vacation pics,” she wrote in the caption. “The vacation itself was glorious and sometimes bittersweet – I took my love, Jeff, to the island in the Caribbean which I first discovered on a work trip when I was 16, in 1981.”
“I got married there in 1989, and have been going back with my husband, his kids, then our kids, every year until 8 years ago,” Porizkova said. As a reminder, Porizkova was married to The Cars musician Ric Ocasek from 1989 until shortly before he died in 2019. Together, the two shared kids Jonathan, 30, and Oliver, 25.
“This is the first time back since,” Porizkova revealed. “So many memories.”
And while it may be sad for her to remember those times, it seems Porizkova is flipping the story and making happier memories to remember the place by. “And now, @sjeffgreenstein and I have added new ones,” she wrote. “(And had fun doing pin-up photos.)”
“Much has changed. Both for the island and me,” she reflected. “But the essence is the same. In both of us, I hope.”
In the comments, Greenstein showed his appreciation for joining the trip. “Thank you for an extraordinary trip and for teaching me about photography ❤️,” the TV writer commented.
Also in the comments was fellow model Linda Evangelista. “Beautiful strong and vulnerable ❤️🔥❤️ all at the same time,” she wrote.
Prior to the bikini pics, Porizkova announced her quick hiatus to fans so she could be fully present during the trip. “I’m soaking up all the rays of happiness – understanding how precious and fleeting it all is,” she wrote in the caption of a post alongside a selfie of her and Greenstein. “Simultaneously, I’m sparing you endless cutsie posts of “look-at-what-fun-I’m-having” photos. 😁”
“Life is magical at the moment- but that doesn’t mean it’s problem-free,” she continued. “When I’m back from vacation, I’ll have to deal with the less ‘fun’ parts.” We’re just glad she enjoyed her trip while it lasted!
