Valuable small shrub for late autumn Lilac-pink spires & spicy aromatic foliage makes Elsholtzia stauntonii a valuable shrub for late autumn flower colour and scent for many more months.

The aromatic leaves have a wonderful spicy scent and are a treat to harvest for pot-pourri or drawer sachets.
And the leaves have a long history of use in the kitchen for cooking spice & teas.
Then the autumn flower spires make good cut flowers.
So Elsholtzia stauntonii really earns it’s space in the garden with all round hardiness and usefulness.

SEED SOWING ADVICE: EASY

Sow indoors in spring. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Press lightly and barely cover. Ideal temperature for germination is 20°C. Keep moist. Germination takes 6-8 weeks approx.
