The Irish signer and style icon, Róisín Murphy is well known for outrageous outfits and quirky, individual style. Now, she is set to join the likes of Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford by signing with the top UK model agency Storm – at the grand old age of 35.

The singer has never been shy when it comes to dressing up – but a recent whirlwind of stylish outings has cemented her place as a fashion force to be reckoned with. And her whimsical creations all owe their existence to her childhood in Arklow, as she explained recently.

"I lived in a fantasy world as a child. Life was fun. There’s a bridge in Arklow, where I grew up and every time I walked over it I felt like I was on a runway." She added: "I even had a recurring dream about the bridge in which I was unable to get across it because the wind was so strong."

As if a new modelling career wasn’t enough, Roisin is to lend her rich vocals to a cover version of Bryan Ferry’s classic song 'Slave to Love' for the Gucci Men fragrance ads.
