Rezance Borzoi

Located in the California East Bay Area, Rezance Borzoi focuses on healthy, functional, fast hounds who are sound in body and mind.

All breeding pairs are health tested per the Borzoi Club of America CHIC guidelines which includes cardiac echocardiogram, thyroid, eyes, and DNA for degenerative myelopathy. Additionally, I holter test my borzoi to further track cardiac health.

With my borzoi, I compete in conformation, lure coursing, amateur racing, non-competitive open field coursing, and we have recently started dock diving!

I am a member in good standing with the Borzoi Club of America, the Borzoi Club of Northern California, and a board member of the Borzoi Health and Welfare Foundation.

Rezance is the Slovak word for Noodle.

I have always endearingly called borzoi “noodle dragons” because they are long, wiggly, and look like mythological creatures. When choosing a kennel name, I wanted something that embodied the borzoi’s silly interior while having an elegant sounding exterior. Rezance fit the bill!

Is a Borzoi right for you?

The Borzoi (pronounced Boar-Zoy) is a large to giant breed of dog who is generally quiet, well mannered, powerful, mighty fast, lean, and they do shed. They were bred for centuries to hunt game by sight (considered sighthounds) and originate from Russia!
