The genus Delphinium occurs in Styria with two species: D. elatum and D. austriacum. Delphinium elatum grows with ist subsp. elatum only on the mountain called Koralpe. Delphinium austriacum is divided into subsp. austriacum (Gurktaler Alpen, Niedere Tauern, Seetaler Alpen, Hochlantsch) and subsp. stiriacum (Gurktaler Alpen). The hybrid between subsp. austriacum and subsp. stiriacum is described as nsubsp. drescheri STARMÜHLER nsubsp. nova.

Abstract: Delphinia rarissima selecta is a series for the publication and distribution of Delphinium collections with variable numbers of specimens. The labels of this series are not numbered. The numbers of duplicates per collection is irregular. In many cases these are collections of hybrids and bastards, which can often be found just in small numbers or as single plants even in mixed ... [Show full abstract] populations. The private herbarium STARMÜHLER is cited as „Starm.“ 10 collections of 35 Delphinium plants are distributed altogether. The collections for the present set of Delphinia rarissima selecta were made in Austria and Slovakia. This set includes the holo-type and iso-types of Delphinium apolanum and Delphinium elatum subsp. macrotepalum. The infraspecific hybrid between Delphinium elatum subsp. alpinum und subsp. elatum is discribed in this article as Delphinium elatum nsubsp. fiekianum nsubsp. nova. New combinations: Delphinium elatum subsp. bosniacum, Delphinium simonkaianum subsp. sericeocarpum. Zusammenfassung: Die Serie Delphinia rarissima selecta dient ausschließlich der Verteilung von Dubletten von Delpinium-Taxa, die in unterschiedlichen Stückzahlen vorliegen und daher nicht für ein Exsiccatenwerk in Frage kommen. Die Etiketten sind nicht numeriert, die Taxa nur alphabetisch geordnet. Die jeweils aus einer Aufsammlung gewonnene Zahl von Dubletten ist sehr unterschiedlich. In vielen Fällen handelt es sich dabei um Aufsammlungen aus sehr kleinen Populationen oder um sehr seltene Delphinia. Hiezu zählen u. a. Hybriden und Bastarde, die auch in Mischpopulationen oft nur in geringer Anzahl oder sogar nur vereinzelt gefunden werden können. Daher werden für jede Aufsammlung (d. h. auf jedem Etikett) alle Herbarien genannt, welche eine Dublette erhalten (Herbarabkürzungen nach HOLMGREN, P.K., HOLMGREN, N.H. & BARNETT, L.C. 1990: Index Herbariorum, Part I. The Herbaria of the World, Ed. 8. Regnum Vegetabile, Vol. 120. New York, http://www.nybg.org/bsci/ich/searchih.html). Das private Herbarium STARMÜHLER wird mit „Starm.“ abgekürzt. Im ganzen werden hier 35 Dubletten von 10 Aufsammlungen verteilt. Die Aufsammlungen für den vorliegenden Satz stammen aus Österreich und der Slowakei. Mit diesem Dubletten-Satz werden auch der Holo-Typus und die Iso-Typen von Delphinium apolanum und Delphinium elatum subsp. macrotepalum verteilt. Die infraspezifische Hybride zwischen Delphinium elatum subsp. alpinum und subsp. elatum wird in dieser Arbeit als Delphinium elatum nsubsp. fiekianum nsubsp. nova beschrieben. Neukombinationen: Delphinium elatum subsp. bosniacum, Delphinium simonkaianum subsp. sericeocarpum. Seit PAWŁOWSKI 1993 (Delphinium L. – In: Tutin & al., Flora Europaea 1.- Cambridge, 2. Auflage) hat sich die Systematik dieser Gattung doch verändert. Daher wird ein neuer Bestimmungsschlüsel für die Delphinium-Arten der Untergattung Delphinastrum vorgestellt.
