Description
(Tractema)
A dwarf, showy species related to Scilla verna but even to the untrained eye it can be seen that Scilla ramburei is a more vigorous plant with about 25 or so attractive, 1cm flowers, each of which has a single bract behind it. The flowers are crowded into a spike above the narrow, inconspicuous leaves.
A native of the mountains of southern Spain and Portugal but happy in most well-drained garden soils which are suitable for bulbs and grows well here outside in a sunny raised bed.
