Description

This is a splendid bright yellow flowered species from Patagonia, Argentina. Ideal in a pot under glass or perhaps for putting outside in a sunny well drained spot, but you may not wish to risk this treasure outside at first.

The stock offered is traceable to David Sampson’s stock, which was awarded a P.C. by the R.H.S London in 1984, when shown under the name of I. sellowiana. ( later, when presented for an award in 2004 , it was said that the species already had an A.M., though we do not yet know the year).

It originates from the first introduction back in 1981 collected by Dr Rolfe Feidler as Beauverdia sellowiana from Patagonia.

It is not fast to increase and it doesn’t set seed here, so there is no weed potential for this one.
