Description

This species is pale green with the edge of the spathe picked out in red-purple, all around a slender, pale purple spadix. The narrow, “waisted” inflorescence is held on a noticeably tall and stout stem up to 35cm tall, this is a slender, upright plant. Inflroescences are made in April, or perhaps earlier if you grow it under unheated glass.

Raised originally from seed that we received from Tel Aviv Botanic gardens this has survived outside unprotected for over 12 years and I think that it can be regarded as hardy in the UK!
