A rare, blue-leaved form of the well known Joshua Tree that grows as a small population in the Sonora desert with weirdly twisted and curly leaves. Yucca brevifolia is very cold hardy and takes severe freezes with ease but, being a true plant of the desert, it prefers drier climates and is difficult to keep alive in cool, wet conditions, where it should be provided with excellent drainage and perhaps even a rain cover in winter.
