This small plant native to dry, rocky habitats in southwestern Madagascar looks a bit like a dwarf Cordyline but belongs in the strange family Velloziaceae, which is most closely related to Pandanus and Cyclanths. It makes an interesting, palm-like bonsai and produces pretty, purplish blue flowers.
