A large, stunning, vigorous grass to 4 m tall, widely distributed in tropical Asia, with upright culms, large, lanceolate leaves and dense, drooping, yellowish-tan inflorescences. It prefers a spot in full sun or partial shade and will grow well in most tropical and frost free warm-temperate areas.
