A very ornamental, reed-like plant in the Restionaceae (commonly referred to as Restios) from southwestern Cape Province in South Africa that forms dense clusters or tussocks of upright or arching culms to about 3 m (10 ft.) tall. An easily cultivated plant for the temperate garden, suitable to USDA Zones 8 to 10.
