A beautiful and very variable understorey palm originating from a widly ranging area in the Andes of South America, north from Mexico all the way down to Bolivia. It is easy to germinate and fast growing. Superb as a conservatory specimen in a pot, or in the shady, humid, warm subtropical or tropical garden growing underneath other palms or large trees.
