A pretty, lily-like perennial with narrow, grass-like leaves and long stalks of chocolate or vanilla-scented, purplish flowers. Dichopogon fimbriatus is found in grasslands and woodlands in southwestern and southeastern Australia. It makes a nice ornamental for warm temperate climates. In regions with cold, wet winters it must have excellent drainage and will benefit from mulching.
