An attractive and widely popular, moderately sized ornamental grass that forms dense clusters of narrow leaves and tall, upright, foxtail-shaped inflorescences. Cenchrus alopecuroides is better known as Pennisetum alopecuroides and is widely distributed rfom eastern Asia to Australia. It succeeds in the tropics as well as in temperate regions where it is fully hardy.
