A small, Aloe-like succulent common in thickets, on cliffs and rocky slopes in southern Africa that forms a rosette of broad, light green leaves and ascending, unbranched flower stalks with bright yellow flowers. Seeds germinate rapidly and Bulbine latifolia is easy and fast growing in cultivation and best suited to cultivation in warm temperate climates in USDA Zones 9 and above.
