A very rare, small tree with simple, oblong leaves and small, cream colored flowers followed by small, yellowish to orange fruits with a rough surface and whitish translucent, edible and sweet flesh that is similar to that of Cherimoya. Endemic to Brazil, Annona ubatubensis is native only to semideciduous Atlantic coastal forest in southern Brazil. It will adapt well to cultivation in warm temperate and most tropical climates and is one of the cold hardiest Annona.
