A large tree to 35 m tall, native to sub-Saharan Africa, with a lightly buttressed trunk, covered by rough, gray to reddish-brown bark, a characteristic flat, imposing crown, feathery, pinnate leaves and greenish-white flowers followed by hairy, dehiscent seed pods. Aside from being a great shade tree, Albizia adianthifolia has a variety of medicinal and culinary applications. Will thrive in tropical and some warm-temperate climates.
