Stems erect to decumbent, covered with gland-tipped hairs. Alternate leaves on petioles are widely oblong, coarsely toothed. Bluish to purple flowers occur in 1-sided loose coil. Flower face is flat with 5 equal lobes, falling soon after opening. Grows on bluffs, slopes, canyons near coast.
