About the Pinks, Perennial Dianthus, Carnations
Perennial dianthus typically produce low growing mounds of silvery-blue, grass like foliage and repeat blooming, single and double dianthus flowers in shades of red, pink, white, burgundy, lavender and violet. Petals can be fringed or spotted. Some newer varieties are extremely fragrant and repeat bloom throughout the growing season. They are wonderful edging and groundcover plants in rock gardens and at the base of roses and near other taller perennials. Use taller varieties and its biennial relative, Sweet William, in flower arrangements.
Care Notes
