Tecomanthe dendrophila

Anyone growing this?  I have one in a three gallon pot.  It gets morning sun here in sunny HOT Sacramento.  I know it blooms on older wood, but how old?  Mine is in its second year.  Sailed through the winter (a mild one, admittedly) but I did give it a bit of frost cover in on the coldest nights.  Growth is wrapped around trellis, about five to eight feet long.  Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Bruce

I grew a small one that was mail ordered. It died in my greenhouse. I think I will try again hearing that yours sailed through winter in sacramento.

Just to clarify: I keep it at that wall, which is an eastern exposure, with a southern wall to its right.  Pretty well protected.

There is a big one flowering over the road atm ... ground is littered with spent flowers.

Can they flower in a pot ?
