This is one of my first hybrids. It's beginning to flower and surprise, forming some fruits.

Such robust and sturdy looking palms, Alberto. How long have they been in the ground?

Alberto,

what a beauty. Read about the beginning of this palm. Congrats for your good job.

I love the hybrids of butia with syagrus and or Jubaea. Unfortunately in Europe it's hardly possible to get affordable plants or even seeds. Keep us updated about its progress.

I collected the pollen about 11 years ago in the city of Olimpia st. São Paulo. The Syagrus oleracea had a very slender trunk of about 10 cm diameter. About 8 years ago they were planted out.

It's a beautiful palm Alberto, and a bonus that it's forming fruit. Congratulations.

Very nice. The mules around here all set seeds as well, but the seeds are solid & not viable... Great looking palm.

Could it be that the flowers have been pollinated by some of your butia or syagrus?
