Found in China, eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam on trees in forests at elevations of 800 to 2250 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with a short stem carrying 3 to 5, linear-ensiform, falcate, acuminate, unequal leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on an axillary, verticiliate, long, slender, terete, decurved, 6.4 to 14.8" [16 to 37 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with distant linear bracts and lanceolate, acuminate, erose-fimbriate floral bracts
