Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in cool, wet, cloud and wind-swept forests at elevations of 900 to 2800 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial often on steep slopes with a creeping, elongate rhizome giving rise to ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped by numerous, stiff, imbricating, distichous, linear-lanceolate, acute, blue green leaves that blooms in the summer on many axillary, fasciculate, sessile, single flowered inflorescence with strongly campanulate flowers that open yellow and become pink over time.
