Common Name Ehrenberg's Malaxis [German Botanist and Orchid Collector in Mexico 1800's early 1900's]

Found in Mexico and Guatemala in humid pine or fir forests at elevations around 2750 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with subterranean, subglobose, white pseudobulbs giving rise to an erect stem carrying single, erect, 4” [10 cm] up the stem, elliptic, acute single veined leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, peduncle to 3” [7.5 cm] long, racemose, rachis to 3” [7.5 cm] long, laxly to 50 flowered inflorescence carrying resupinate flowers
