Common Name The Robust Goodyera - In China Dian Zang Ban Ye Lan

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in the the Assam India, the Chinese Himalayas and Taiwan on mossy tree trunks at elevations of 2000 to 2300 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with a creeping, branching rhizome giving rise to an erect stem carrying distant, 7 to 9, distichous, reticulate, pubescent, lanceolate, acute, narrowing towards the broad, channeled, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the mid summer on an erect, peduncle greyish green, 1.2 to 2.6" [3 to 6.5 cm] long, pubescent, provided with 3 to 4 sterile bracts, rachis 2 to 4" [5 to 10 cm] long, secund, subdensely to densely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, pubescent, acuminate floral bracts and carrying weakly opening flowers.
