Found in the Philippines as a miniature epiphyte with fleshy, grooved, curved, stiff, leathery leaves that blooms in the spring on a short, axillary, paniculate, densely many flowered inflorescence with drooping branches.

There is a lot of confusion with this species and its provenence. This species correctly occurs in the Philippines and has a short column with a short rostellum and a wide frilled lip. Many sources show Stereochilus laxus as this species which has a long protruding column with a very long rostellum at the column apex and has a fleshy, less wide lip.
