Trollius europaeus

Globe flowers live up to their common name with large globe-shaped flowers that resemble giant double buttercups. They are native to boggy area, but are easy to grow in any garden soil as long as they do not dry out.

Common globe flower has luminous, lemon-yellow blooms that light up the late spring garden. Best planted en masse.

Note: These are young plants. Please expect only moderate flowering this year - they will come into their own the second year.

Southern gardeners: it may be best to avoid this plant. This Siberian native is really not happy in warm zones south of 6.
