Aquilegia flavescens

Yellow columbine is a North American native wildflower found in mountain meadows, open woods, and the stony slopes of the Rocky Mountains from Utah north to British Columbia and Alberta. The pink-tinged yellow flowers attract butterflies and other pollinators.

Despite its preference for stony slopes, it is easy to grow in the garden, tolerating moist to dry soil in full sun to part shade. Best used in natural landscape or other low maintenance plantings. Self-sows moderately. Deer and rabbit resistant.

WARNING: mildly poisonous to livestock. Contact with sap may irritate the skin.
