Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A terrestrial or lithophytic herb, it has an erect growth form. 
Foliage The leaves are alternately arranged and are linear with a rounded, unequal bilobed apex. The leaves can grow up to 35 cm long and 1.8 to 3 cm wide.  
Flowers The flowers are borne on a single-flowered inflorescence and measure up to 6.5 cm wide. The lateral petals are yellow, the base of the petals are covered with hairs and maroon blotches. The lateral sepals are yellow-green in colour. The dorsal sepal is yellow-green with a wide white margin and maroon blotches spreading outwards from the base of the sepal. The flower lip is yellow.
