Without giving too much away, Tommy (Cillian Murphy) and Michael (Finn Cole) are reunited in a shady business deal four years after the death of Michael's mum Polly Gray, whose character was written out of the series following the death of actor Helen McCrory before filming started.

Vivien Rae, owner of Macduff-based Evoke Marketing, said: "As a Peaky Blinders fan, it was great to see it back on our screens, and also to finally see the scenes filmed in Portsoy last year.

"I thought Portsoy was very recognisable, especially in scenes set around the old harbour area. Social media was awash with references to the return of the much loved series, highlighting the great opportunity for Portsoy and the north east to capitalise on the tourism benefits provided by the local links to the show.

"Peaky Blinders will certainly continue to form part of the online conversation and visitor attraction for many of the local businesses I’m supporting with marketing and PR for some time to come."
