Watch as Golden Retriever 'Stomps and Cries' During Tantrum to Get His Way

Social media users have been left in stitches after seeing the hilarious tantrum a golden retriever throws whenever he doesn't get his way.

Charlie the golden retriever will go to great lengths to make sure he gets what he wants, and if that means throwing a tantrum in public, then so be it. The eight-month-old pup often "stomps and cries when he doesn't get his way," which can be highly entertaining for his owner, Lauren.

In a hilarious TikTok video (@laurenandcody), Lauren filmed Charlie looking very impatient as he waited for her to follow him, but when she stopped, he quickly showed his outrage. He jumped up and down on the spot, and even grabbed his leash in his mouth to show exactly what he wanted. While Lauren may be used to his adorable outbursts, it was a welcome surprise to many TikTok users, after the clip was shared in February.

The video has already gained over 9.1 million views and more than 1.4 million likes in a matter of days. While Charlie's owner may not be too happy about his tantrums, they're certainly amusing to see.

There's a lot to love about golden retrievers, and it's no wonder they always rank among the most popular dog breeds in the country, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC). The breed has very joyful approach to life and a playful temperament that makes them so lovable. That's usually carried into adulthood as well – it's not just a puppy phase they grow out of.

This means they're full of energy and can easily put a smile on their owner's face, but the AKC suggests that the breed is remarkably easy to train too because they're so loyal and eager to please.

It's best to provide them with socialization and puppy training classes from a young age, as this aids their development into a well-behaved adult (who won't throw temper tantrums).

After the video of Charlie stomping on the ground when he didn't get what he wanted went viral, his owner posted a follow-up video to show their followers that it's a regular occurrence. This definitely wasn't just a one-time thing with Charlie.

Alongside the viral TikTok video, she wrote: "The stomp is my [favorite] part."

With more than 7,300 comments on the video so far, there was plenty of support for the furious golden retriever. Who could possibly say no to him?

One comment reads: "That is the cutest tantrum I've ever seen."

Another person responded: "Give that baby whatever he wants!"
