In an Australian house filled with 11 rescue cats and four rescue dogs, one would assume the felines take over, but a border collie has claimed the throne thanks to his working genes.
A TikTok video about the doting border collie posted by Kelly Dinham (@kellydinham) on Thursday quickly went viral, bringing in over 1.5 million views, 326,300 likes and 831 comments within the first day of being posted.
The video shows the border collie walking around the house, looking at all the cats scattered throughout the room, mentally taking notes, and making sure they were all safe. There are no days off for this working dog!
The dog must love his job because he kept a smile on his face the entire time as he watched over "his flock cats." Luckily, the cats didn't seem to be giving their brother a hard time. Between the kisses and nose boops, their relationship looks strong.

The sweet clip is captioned "He's just making sure everything is under control!" and set to the song "Do You Believe in Magic" by The Lovin' Spoonful.
People can't get enough of the pup's job well done and told Dinham in the comments how much they adore him.
"So gentle and sweet with his flock. He's doing a great job," said a TikTok user.
One viewer wrote: "My border collie can 'get the cats' and will find them anywhere and herd them to me." The owner responded to that comment: "That's so cute! Bear's sister is deaf and we say 'Where's Honey?!' and he goes to get her."

History of Border Collies
The herding instinct runs deep in a border collie's DNA. They are known to be one of the best and most popular herding dog breeds and have been working dogs since the 1800s.
However, many scholars believe this breed's history goes further. The dog's heritage is closely linked to livestock farming and wool trade throughout the United Kingdom, according to the American Kennel Club.
In fact, the breed's name comes from its home region. Border Collies were originally bred in Scotland. They thrived on the border of Scotland and England, hence the word "border" in the name. Collie is a Scottish word to describe a sheepdog.
Sheep, goats and cattle all require a herding dog with specific sizes, speed, and temperament. This led to a diverse and extensive gene pool for breeding dogs, and the border collie known and loved today is a result of the breeding process, with an emphasis on herding.
