As per usual, as soon as Mae wakes up on Day 7, check the computer for messages from both Gregg and Bea which will let you know where they can be found for the day. You’ll also learn that today is Harfest (Halloween).
If you’ve hung out with your Dad and watched TV three times, he’ll have moved the boxes in the crawlspace. We can now head past it and interact with the small hatch on the wall to reach a basement area. In the basement, you’ll find a safe we can’t open. Return back to the house and inspect the bookshelf to the far right on the same floor away from the crawlspace door. There is a book here that contains the safe combination. Reading this will also unlock a Diary Note [Thought: Come Back to life Grand Dad].
Return through the crawlspace to the basement and interact with the safe now that we have the combination. You’ll receive an Old Tooth and a new Diary Note [Mysterious Tooth]. With this in our possession, we’re about 1/3 of a way to an Achievement/Trophy. We won’t be able to do anything towards it just yet, but remember that we still have it for later.
Afterwards, make your way downstairs and chat to your Mom again before leaving.
As with Day 5, head into the right-hand side of town and speak to Selma again and choose to listen to her poem when she offers it.
When you reach the town centre, we can repeat a few tasks we need to do for Achievements/Trophies in the future. We can also activate a new ‘side-quest’of sorts for an additional Achievement/Trophy:
- Chat with Lori M. who can be found on the ground by the soldier statue today.
- Head for the church at the top of the stairs on the right side of the area where you can talk to Mae’s Mom once again.
- Whilst you are at the church, head past it and continue as far as you can to the right to find a group of three goth types sitting atop a cliff. Talk to them. Choose the “Shipwreck” answer for your first question, the other dialogue options don’t matter. They’ll ask you to find another two Pentagram symbols which you’ll receive an Achievement/Trophy for later. Speaking with them will also get you the Diary Note [3 Weird Teens I Met].
After getting all of that out of the way, continue into the left-hand side of town. Here, you can continue ot the left and past the derelict Food Donkey store to find Germ whom we can chat with.
To continue though, speak with Gregg at the Snack Falcon. After a short chat, you’ll go and partake in a mini-game where he’ll through fluorescent light tubes at you whilst you try and hit them with a baseball bat. Fun!
Once you have run out of bulbs, the scene will end. At this point, you’ll receive a Diary Note [Smash!]. To continue, head back into town centre and as you continue towards home, Mae will pass by the Ol Pickaxe (Bea’s work) and will suggest heading home to get ready. If you’ve done all the exploring that you require, feel free to do so.
When you get home, head up to Mae’s room and interact with the mirror. This will have Mae transform into Halloween dress. Head outside to begin Hasrfest.
Harfest
As soon as you leave the house, you’ll end up in town centre. You’ll receive a pair of Diary Notes [Halloween] and [Harfest]. Make your way to the Ol Pickaxe store and stop in at the tent on the way if you want for a fortune teller and water balloon tossing mini-game featuring some interesting dialogue.
Enter the Ol Pickaxe and speak with Bea to continue. We’ll now take part in a performance. Choose any dialogue options you want as you go.
Following the performance, we’ll be back outside. After a few more scenes, we’ll regain control outside of the abandoned Food Donkey. Continue to the left and up the stairs until another scene plays. Aunt Mallcop will show up and give you a lift home.
Dream Sequence
We’ll find ourselves in another dream-like sequence. Simply run to the left until a scene plays to end the chapter. When we regain control next, we’ll wake up in Part 3: The Long Fall, Day 8.
