I posted a while back regarding my F1 Amarillo and F1 Arenal Barred Midas - wasn't for sure who was who. Folks confirmed and attached are updated pics. The first three are the Amarillo - around 6"+ total length. THe next three are the midas at 6.5"+. Both are doing well. The Amarillo is much more aggressive and the midas is a puppy dog and a pigAmarillo 1 8-6-2016.JPG Amarillo 2 8-6-2016.JPG Amarillo 2 8-6-2016.JPG Amarillo 3 8-6-2016.JPG Midas 1 8-6-2016.JPG Midas 2 8-6-2016.JPG Midas 3 8-6-2016.JPG

No I'm not sure. That is how they were labled for sure (from Dan at Cichlids of the Americas), but I paid more for the Amarillo as he was bigger and the Midas came in bigger, so I thought I might have gotten it wrong. I posted them and a few folks on here said they had gotten Amarillos from Dan that looked just like mine, so seemed to validate it. I can tell you that the supposed Amarillo at the top is much more aggressive than the supposed barred midas at the bottom, despite being smaller and definitely a lot less chunky.

Good looking fish. I have a f1 barred midas and it does not look like your 3 pics of F1 barred midas. Below mine from Jeff Rapps.

Your pic are right on. Three top is the amarillo, the bottom three are barred midas.
This is my amarillo male(top), and my barred midas female in her breeding dress(bottom). These are also from dan.

All, I have a 6-month update to the original post. They are both around 9" now - w/ the barred midas a little longer and a lot chunkier than the Amarillo Amarillo 1 2-16-2017.JPG Amarillo and Barred Midas 2-16-2017.JPG Barred Midas 1 2-16-2017.JPG Barred Midas 2 2-16-2017.JPG Barred Midas 3 2-16-2017.JPG . The first pic is of the Amarillo - the next of the pair - and the last ones of the barred midas. You can also see a male Chancho in the pair pic - he had been extremely slow growing, but has really gone on a growth spurt lately. He seems more strategic than the others - knows how to avoid conflict during feeding time to maximize his loot
