Features

Vodafone managed to break the megapixel barrier for the first time with the Sharp GX30. Like its predecessors, this was a Vodafone exclusive in Europe, and sold through Smartone-Vodafone in Hong Kong, and FarEastTone in Taiwan (with the designation GX32 & GX31 respectively).

The GX30 was a dramatic upgrade from GX20. The screen produced four times as many colours, the camera featured 3x the resolution (1140 x 858px) and the internal phone storage could be expanded by up to 128MB through an SD Card. This opened up new possibilities in the multimedia space, allowing for larger galleries, extended video recording and MP3 support. Bluetooth was added for hands-free functionality, a feature missing from the GX20. However, file transfer was still limited to MMS.
